LCIGS Research Policy and Instructions
LCIGS volunteers will perform limited research using the resources available in the Society Research Room. Research requests may be made by mail, phone, or e-mail. Each request must be specific in nature and include as much information as possible about the ancestor or family being researched. The Society will not research living people.
When the research is complete, the requester will be be notified of the items located and the cost. LCIGS members will be given a reduced rate. When payment is received, copies will be mailed via USPS or digital copies will be emailed, depending on the preference of the requester.
If you have a difficult or complex problem, or wish to have your research include a written analysis of sources checked, you may want to hire a researcher. See Researchers.
