Welcome to the Lake County Illinois GenealogIcal Society Website!
THE LAKE COUNTY (IL) GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY was formed in May of 1978 by the Genealogy Group of the Libertyville-Mundelein Historical Society, Libertyville, Illinois. We are a non-profit organization whose purpose is:
- to unite those persons interested in the pursuit and study of genealogy and family history;
- to encourage the preservation of public and private records;
- to promote programs of education which support the growth and development of these fields.
PROGRAMS – Join us! Monthly programs are generally held on the second Tuesday or Thursday of the month at 7:00 pm – January through November. Everyone is welcome!
VOLUNTEER: Over the years the Society has worked on a number of projects. Some have been completed, some are still in progress, and still others are waiting in the wings. Nothing would be accomplished without our volunteers. To become a volunteer, call the Society at 847-918-3584 or email LCIGS1170@gmail.com for information.
